To provide a holistic education in kindergarten, the following 8 key areas of focus and development are implemented

Language & Literacy

Language and literacy are major domains of early childhood development. These are connected areas, but refer to different things. Language development involves the development of the skills used to communicate with others through languages, while literacy development involves the ability to read and write.

Maths

Mathematics teaches us how to make sense of the world around us through developing a child’s ability to calculate, to reason and to solve problems. It enables children to understand and appreciate relationships and pattern in both number and space in their everyday lives.

Sensorial & Cognitive

Sensorial learning is a teaching approach that stimulates the child’s five senses; taste, touch, smell, sight, and hearing. This allows children to use their senses to explore and understand the world around them. Sensorial development will help them build necessary skills that include cognition and logic

Science & Technology

Science provides experiences that can stimulate young children’s curiosity and motivate them to become interested in their environment and in the mechanisms of nature. Children are naturally curious about the world around them and this involves that of the technological world

Geography

Geography involves activities such as actively exploring spaces and manipulating objects in the environment to help children begin to understand the world around them. It is taught with the help of the numerous Montessori materials dedicated for that purpose

Socio-Emotional Development

Kindergarteners are capable of learning to control their behavior and to get along with peers, parents, siblings, etc. It is important to teach them kindness, cooperativeness and acceptance.

Arts

Artistic activities foster intellectual development and some of their benefits are stimulation of both sides of the brain. It increases the capacity of memory, attention and concentration, helps develop reading skills and children do better in math and science.

Physical Development

From kicking and squirming, to holding objects, crawling and standing, the development of fine and gross motor skills starts in the early years. From fine motor skills and gross motor skills to doing complicated agility movements, our kids are given the opportunity to learn to flex their bodies.
